Dragonwatch by Brandon Mull

***I received an advanced copy of this title from an awesome friend***
I enjoyed reading the story, but I was jolted from the fantasy at times with clunky dialogue and randomly mentioned magical creatures. Both Seth and Kendra are continuing to grow as characters, while their cousins are introduced in the beginning of the book. There was a long period of time when Seth and Kendra are separated from the cousins to be in charge of a Dragon Sanctuary, leaving the reader wondering when the cousins will enter the story again. The dragons are becoming dangerous and unstable and Seth and Kendra are responsible for making sure that the Dragon Sanctuary of Wyrmroost remains well-guarded.
Note: Throughout this story, Seth seems to run into odd situations where magical creatures choose to spare his life when they could take it. It usually turns out something like this: "Oh, I could have killed you but chose not to because I'm feeling extra generous." Oh magical creatures, aren't you so merciful!
