Meh, it was okay. It was very slow-going for me to finish this one. I'm a Brandon Mull fan. Beyonders and Fablehaven are two of my favorite series. However, this book pretty much dragged for me. I had a hard time connecting with Cole as a character. I don't really know why. The rules to the shaping are not believable and I was really frustrated with the beginning of the book. Then I just wonder if Cole's crush on Jenna wanes upon meeting Mira. Maybe that is something that is bugging me, because the book starts with him majorly crushing on Jenna, then he doesn't think about her as much as you would think someone with a huge crush might.
