Read it First?

Believe it or not, this Children's Librarian hasn't read either of these two books yet:


Wonder looks so very sweet and lovely.


This one seems quite chilling. I did try reading it once, but I think I remember the author talking to the reader a few times and I didn't like the way she did that.

The question is, should I read them or watch them first?
