OverDrive

I am a very lucky and spoiled girl when it comes to libraries. I have the opportunity to patronize two high quality library systems. One is the Salt Lake County Library System and the other is the Salt Lake City Library System. Both are really great.

If you live in Salt Lake valley and do not realize all that is available to you, I will soon educate you. If you know nothing else, you must learn about OverDrive. This service is offered by both the county and the city libraries.

Each library has different books to borrow at different times, so I recommend that you get a library card from both libraries. The audiobooks are my favorite as you can do so many things while you listen to your audiobook. You can go for a walk, workout, do chores, listen while you commute (be safe about this please), and make mundane tasks more enjoyable.

Get the App

The very first thing you are going to want to do is get the OverDrive app for your mobile device. Look it up and download it this very moment. From there you will "get books" and then look through your library's selection. Have your library card ready and search for a variety of authors you enjoy.

If you need help go to http://www.overdrive.com/help-videos/ to find out how to use OverDrive's services. If you love e-books and audiobooks you will fall in love with this service. Just one last note: Get used to putting things on hold. Don't worry about the wait time, you will get your turn. While waiting for your turn, there is always Hoopla and Booksshouldfree.com, which I will discuss in a later blog post.
