Owls

I recently watched the episode of "The Last Airbender" where this creepy owl character is the spirit in charge of this sand buried library.

It got me thinking about my thoughts on owls. It's funny, because sometimes I believe they can be very majestic. On the other hand, they can be downright creepy. In fact, I've even had a dream where this man-eating owl was terrorizing a neighborhood I was in and we (everyone in my dream) had to take refuge in an elementary school.

Then there was that trip to the aviary. Yikes! There was this barn owl that was staring me down and swaying his head in this "I'm going to get you" motion.

Of course, all the owls in Harry Potter are pretty interesting. Hedwig is majestic. Snowy owls usually do have that dignified look about them.

Which leads me to the question, why are owls considered wise?
