"Fairest," by Gail Carson Levine, 326 pages
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
This book was so sweet and precious. I loved the main character. She is a kind person, though hung up on how she doesn't like her appearance. This is a story based off of "Snow White," yet this story truly is unique. It is far enough from its original telling, that Levine's rendition is a new story itself.
I love the characters in this story. The prince and zhamM (I didn't misspell, the name is truly spelled with a capital at the end!) are such loveable characters. They see the heart in people. The gnomes are an interesting race with curious abilities.
The main character Aza has a special ability of her own when it comes to singing. Something that also makes her special is the fact that she has htun colored hair (sorry, humans cannot see htun.)
This is a book that isn't soon to be forgotten.
For you "Ella Enchanted" fans, I thought this book was even better. Love it!
