"Princess Academy," by Shannon Hale, 314 pages
My rating: 5 out of 5 stars
What a fun and smart book! I loved that Miri wanted to learn new things and that she was smart enough to help her village gain better financial stability. I loved the magic of quarry speech and the relationships in this book.
Miri looks is a caring person. At first she seems somewhat shy and thinks everyone is mad at her, but I love the way she comes out of her bubble and realizes that she is more than just a girl who is not allowed to work in the quarry.
Every young girl should read this book. It's more about learning and gaining talents than it is about depending solely on a guy for your worth. This is now one of my new favorites for sure.
